Wrapping up my First Greek Week

My first Greek Week was a whirlwind to say the least.
The entire week was full of events. I only
participated in two events the entire week starting with Greek Sing at the beginning of the week and then at Greek Olympics on Saturday where I participated in dodgeball. The rest of the events during the week I was able to go and watch and cheer on my friends. It was fun to watch and get pictures of everything going on. Luckily I did not have a large amount of schoolwork to do so I could focus on creating content and getting posts out for the Panhel Instagram.

Saturday came around which was Greek Olympics. We had to be at the Alpha Xi house at 9:00am but I went at 8:15am to get my hair braided. It was an early morning but everyone was getting excited for the day to come. The only downside was that it began to rain and proceeded to rain the entire time. Fortunately it was not too cold but it was windy and rainy. That did not stop us from continuing the day full of events. Alpha Xi did pretty well in all the events that day. Dodgeball was difficult because it was still raining so it was hard to throw and catch the balls. We won one of the two games we played! My favorite part of the entire day was watching all the events. Specifically mud tug. It was fun to not only cheer on my sorority but also the other sororities and watch the fraternities as well.

Alpha Xi ended up coming in 3rd place for the sororities. Although we wish it was a higher placement, everyone is still happy with how we did and the memories that were made. After all the events were done and Greek Week was officially over it was not the end of the day. I found out that there was a surprise birthday party going on for one my sorority sister's birthday happening that night. So, we want to that and it was so much fun to celebrate her. When Sunday came around I was exhausted to say the least. Looking back I am sad it is over but now I am even more excited for next year!

  1. Hello McKenna! Competing in dodgeball seems very fun! I saw some of the events during the week like kickball out by the track. I also saw pictures on the Instagram and each activity seemed like a blast. I can imagine how tired you were by the end of the week but I'm glad you had fun!
