Greek Week 2026

From the very first day of recruitment this past fall everyone I talked to involved in Greek Life mentioned Greek Week. The time has finally come and this entire week every day has an event that each chapter participates in. Then it all leads to the final day on Saturday which is Greek Olympics.

On Monday it started off with Greek Sing. This is where each chapter performs a song and dance routine. The sororities go up against each other and the same for fraternities. I was nervous at first because it would be my first time ever performing at Greek Sing and also because our pledge class had our own section to perform and we had only realized the practice before some of the beats for our dance section were hard to hear. This means it would be very difficult to stay on our original timing. Luckily once we got out there we knew we just needed to do our best and have fun. I think it went well and everyone did their best. My favorite part was the ending when we all went in the center and did one of our favorite chants. It was really fun and we were all super loud because everyone loves that specific chant. We ended up getting third place out of four. Although we would have loved to have won we were happy with the result because in years past Alpha Xi has typically finished last. Once we were done performing we were able to just sit and watch all the fraternities do their performances. This was probably my favorite part because it was fun to watch what each group came up with. Usually the lyrics or dance moves would make everyone laugh and have a good time. It was truly such an amazing event and got everyone excited for the rest of the week. 

For the rest of the week there will be numerous events each day. I am not participating in any events until Saturday so I just get the fun job of showing up to support Alpha Xi and also get pictures for the Panhel Instagram account. Saturday is the day that everyone looks forward to the most, Greek Olympics. This is an entire day full of different events happening all over the place. I am only participating in dodgeball. I am excited for this but slightly nervous. I used to play softball but quit before my sophomore year of high school so I am hoping I am still able to throw as well as I used to. Other than that, I am excited to support and watch all the other events as well. Hopefully Alpha Xi can get a couple of wins and give it our best to win the overall event. No matter what the final placements end up being I am excited to have this entire week to spend with my friends and make great memories!

    Your pictures are so cute! It sounds like you have a busy week this week, but it also sounds like it will be so much fun. I love the positive attitude that you have about Greek Week and I hope that your sorority does well and that you make some amazing memories!

    Hi McKenna! These pictures are adorable! I did not go to Greek Sing last year, so this year was my first time watching. I intended to only go for a bit, but I ended up staying for all performances. Everyone did so well! I also really enjoyed your Roblox routine, I played every game your group sang/danced to at least once when I was younger. Good luck for the rest of the week!

    Hey McKenna! A lot of my friends are in Zeta so I have been hearing all about Greek Week! It seems like you guys have been having a lot of fun and I wish I was able to go and watch you all perform at Greek Sing! I hope your sorority does good the rest of the week and you make so many good memories!!

 This past Saturday was Valentine's Day but I celebrated Galentine's Day instead. On Friday, Alpha Xi had a Galentine's Day party. This was such a great event where we had card making and a small gift game. There were snacks and little desserts that were delicious. Wrapping up my First Greek Week

My first Greek Week was a whirlwind to say the least. The entire week was full of events. I only participated in two events the entire week starting with Greek Sing at the beginning of the week and then at Greek Olympics on Saturday where I participated in dodgeball. The rest of the events during the week I was able to go and watch and cheer on my friends. It was fun to watch and get pictures of everything going on. Luckily I did not have a large amount of schoolwork to do so I could focus on creating content and getting posts out for the Panhel Instagram.  Saturday came around which was Greek Olympics.
