Easter Weekend

This past weekend was an amazing couple of days to spend at home for Easter. I was able to go home Wednesday night because both of my classes I typically have on Thursday were canceled. It was nice getting that extra full day on Thursday to make my weekend 4 days.

On Thursday I spent time finishing up any schoolwork that I wanted to get done before heading into the long weekend and some work to get me ahead for what is now this week. A new Barnes and Noble just opened by my house and it has the best cafe in there where I have been loving going to. It is a great spot where I can get out of the house to get work done (and as a reward look at all the books and other items afterwards). Later that day I went to my old dance gym to watch some of the team's practice. As I have mentioned in some of my previous blogs I love to stop up there as much as I can to see my old coaches, teammates and girls I used to coach. It was so nice to go up there to visit them and see the routines. They are heading to nationals in a couple weeks and it hit me that it is coming up on a year that I have been out of dance. Nationals last year was where I competed for the last time and although I miss it every day it was exciting to see how far the teams have come and how they are preparing.

Friday was another exciting day. In the morning I had a quick meeting with my advisor to talk about my schedule for next semester and we were able to get that figured out. Then I packed up a quick bag and drove down to Columbus to visit my friend who goes to The Ohio State University. She does not have any classes Friday so we went shopping and hung out for the day. It was great to see her and just catch up.

Saturday morning I quickly got back home because my family was coming over later in the day. Many of my aunts, uncles and cousins came over to watch the Final Four games of March Madness. I personally did not have a bracket this year but it was funny at times to see many of my uncles get stressed out about the games. Then, Easter Sunday my dad and I headed over to my grandma's house in the morning for a little bit to see her. In the afternoon I went over to my aunt's house. Although it was much of the same family I had just seen the night before I will never complain about spending time with them. I also got to see my 2 little cousins who I have not seen in forever. I adore them and they continue to grow up so fast so it was so nice to spend the day with them.

Overall, it was a great long weekend leaving my heart full. I know that it was a great weekend because as I look through my camera roll I have absolutely no pictures. I am feeling refreshed and ready to finish out this second semester strong!

  2. Hello! It sounds like your weekend was amazing. I also love going to get new books as a reward for doing my school work or for just getting through the week. I found a thrift book store in Marysville that is a good stop if you're looking for inexpensive used books. I am so glad that you were able to see your family and friends over the weekend too!
