My Visions and Boards with Pinterest



I have always had great experiences with Pinterest. It is a great app to find a variety of inspiration. I also love it because it is an escape from all the traditional social media platforms. It does not have news accounts shoving information down your throat or an influencer telling you why to try a new product. It simply shows you what you might be interested in and allows you to scroll through without much thought. 

I have so many boards on my account where I am able to organize all of my saved pins into categories. My largest board is titled "Nails". I am always saving different designs because even when I am just mindlessly scrolling and looking for anything specific a few nail pictures will typically catch my eye so I quickly save them in case I want to use it in the future. It is interesting to look through that board because I have been saving pins for years. It is noticeable what season it was when I saved each of them because it will go from a section of lighter colors which I assume was during the spring and summer time to designs with darker browns for fall time then finally blues and snowflakes that indicate it was in the winter season. 

There are numerous other boards that I have created over the years ranging from concert outfits to hair inspiration to baking recipes. Pinterest is helpful for anyone trying to get there mind going and in need of inspiration. It is a useful platform where people can share their ideas and get inspiration at the same time. I love to just scroll on the home page every now and then. In my opinion it is better than scrolling on other platforms like Instagram or TikTok. Do not get me wrong I always get sucked into those platforms and will scroll but with Pinterest you are not seeing depressing news about numerous things happening in society. You will see some ads that you can click on but it is typically clothing or different products.

Galentine's Weekend!

 This past Saturday was Valentine's Day but I celebrated Galentine's Day instead. On Friday, Alpha Xi had a Galentine's Day party. This was such a great event where we had card making and a small gift game. There were snacks and little desserts that were delicious. So many girls were there so it was really nice to catch up with everyone all together and as always there were so many fun stories and laughs all night. Sometimes it is rare to find a time for all of us to be at the same place all at once. When so many of us were able to come to this it was exciting. Greek Week 2026

From the very first day of recruitment this past fall everyone I talked to involved in Greek Life mentioned Greek Week. The time has finally come and this entire week every day has an event that each chapter participates in. Then it all leads to the final day on Saturday which is Greek Olympics. On Monday it started off with Greek Sing. This is where each chapter performs a song and dance routine. The sororities go up against each other and the same for fraternities. I was nervous at first because it would be my first time ever performing at Greek Sing and also because our pledge class had our own section to perform and we had only realized the practice before some of the beats for our dance section were hard to hear. This means it would be very difficult to stay on our original timing. Luckily once we got out there we knew we just needed to do our best and have fun. Wrapping up my First Greek Week

My first Greek Week was a whirlwind to say the least. The entire week was full of events. I only participated in two events the entire week starting with Greek Sing at the beginning of the week and then at Greek Olympics on Saturday where I participated in dodgeball. The rest of the events during the week I was able to go and watch and cheer on my friends. It was fun to watch and get pictures of everything going on. Luckily I did not have a large amount of schoolwork to do so I could focus on creating content and getting posts out for the Panhel Instagram.  Saturday came around which was Greek Olympics. We had to be at the Alpha Xi house at 9:00am but I went at 8:15am to get my hair braided. It was an early morning but everyone was getting excited for the day to come.
