Spring Break: So Close Yet So Far Away

 Spring break could not come soon enough. I honestly have been proud of myself for keeping somewhat good track of all my assignments and responsibilities with the organizations and clubs I am involved in. But that does not make it any easier or less overwhelming at times. I am the person who always loves to keep my schedule busy but recently I have been wishing I had one day where something did not pop up to add to my list of things to do. That is why I am extremely excited to escape for a little bit over spring break. 

Sadly, I am not traveling anywhere warm like a lot of people I know are. I luckily got my refresh of that when I went to Florida over winter break so I am not too upset. I am simply just excited to go home and see family and friends that I have not seen in a long time. I am hoping to get back to my old dance studio to teach a few private lessons and classes. I always enjoy going back because I have a true passion for coaching and I love to do it any chance I can get. My cousin had also asked me to dog-sit for her while she and her husband are on vacation. I gladly accepted because I love her dog and she is paying me. I told her I did not mind doing it for free because we are so close but she insisted so I am not mad about making a little extra money. 

I know I will not be completely off the hook though. I will still have to study for an exam I have to take right after break ends and keep up with a few responsibilities I have in a couple of different organizations here on campus. I am OK with this though because I can always head into the local coffee shop by my house and work on these things for a portion of my day. Then I can have the rest of the day to do things with friends and family or just relax. 

As of now, I am just trying to look straight ahead and get everything done so when break comes, I have the least amount of work possible. Good luck to everyone these next couple of weeks and just keep pushing through. I know I will!

    I also can't wait for spring break, McKenna! Even though you're not going anywhere warm, it is still always nice to get that week just restart and relax. I am definitely looking forward to having a break from waking up early for classes and having to do homework every day. We are almost there just one more week!

    Hey McKenna! I am also so excited for spring break. It is going to be such a nice break to have from school until we finish off the last few months. I hope you have a good break with family and friends even thought you aren't going anywhre warm! Have a good rest of your week!!

    Hey! I can relate to enjoying being busy, and it being overwhelming at times. It's good that you have some things to look forward to when you go home. I hope that you have a nice and restful spring break! You deserve it!

 This past Saturday was Valentine's Day but I celebrated Galentine's Day instead. On Friday, Alpha Xi had a Galentine's Day party. This was such a great event where we had card making and a small gift game. There were snacks and little desserts that were delicious. Greek Week 2026

From the very first day of recruitment this past fall everyone I talked to involved in Greek Life mentioned Greek Week. The time has finally come and this entire week every day has an event that each chapter participates in. Then it all leads to the final day on Saturday which is Greek Olympics. On Monday it started off with Greek Sing. This is where each chapter performs a song and dance routine. The sororities go up against each other and the same for fraternities. I was nervous at first because it would be my first time ever performing at Greek Sing and also because our pledge class had our own section to perform and we had only realized the practice before some of the beats for our dance section were hard to hear. Wrapping up my First Greek Week

My first Greek Week was a whirlwind to say the least. The entire week was full of events. I only participated in two events the entire week starting with Greek Sing at the beginning of the week and then at Greek Olympics on Saturday where I participated in dodgeball. The rest of the events during the week I was able to go and watch and cheer on my friends. It was fun to watch and get pictures of everything going on. Luckily I did not have a large amount of schoolwork to do so I could focus on creating content and getting posts out for the Panhel Instagram.  Saturday came around which was Greek Olympics. We had to be at the Alpha Xi house at 9:00am but I went at 8:15am to get my hair braided. It was an early morning but everyone was getting excited for the day to come.
