Galentine's Weekend!

This past Saturday was Valentine's Day but I celebrated Galentine's Day instead. On Friday, Alpha Xi had a Galentine's Day party. This was such a great event where we had card making and a small gift game. There were snacks and little desserts that were delicious. So many girls were there so it was really nice to catch up with everyone all together and as always there were so many fun stories and laughs all night. Sometimes it is rare to find a time for all of us to be at the same place all at once. When so many of us were able to come to this it was exciting. All of us were excited to relax and of course dress up in pink and red and take cute pictures.

On Saturday I originally had plans to go to Ohio State University where one of my closest friends goes to school. I planned to visit and hangout with her. But, Friday my car began to have a couple issues and the check engine light came on which made me a bit nervous. I immediately called my dad (because I know nothing about cars) and he helped me find a car shop to see what was going on. Luckily it is getting fixed and is not too big of a problem. But because of this I could not head down to visit my friend so I was upset about that. Instead I decided to sleep in Saturday morning which was nice because it is something I rarely get to do. All day I had a relaxing day where I read a little bit and did some homework. Later in the day a few of my close friends and I hung out all night which was so much fun. It was a great time to catch up with no stress. Although I was upset at first I couldn't go visit my friend in Columbus it ended up being a great and memorable weekend full of love.

To wrap up, it was a very memorable weekend. I have noticed that sometimes the best times are the ones I do not plan out and it creates the best memories. I always love a good plan but now I am realizing it can be just as fun without one. I hope everyone reading had a great Valentine's (or Galentine's) weekend!

  1. Hi Mckenna! That sounds like such a fun weekend. Your picture is so cute! I'm so glad that many of your sorority sisters were able to attend the Galentine's Day celebration. I totally understand calling your dad for anything about cars. I immediately call mine anytime something happens with my car. He had gone on a work trip one day and had to Facetime me so he could walk me through putting air in my tires. Your weekend sounds like the ideal weekend and I'm glad it was relaxing, fun and productive!
